The Adventures of Plugo - what's the point?

Plugo stopped at a nearby pub on his way back home to engage in some pointless banter with seemingly uninteresting fellows. The pub, "Wednesday's", always had a large crowd and I assume that's why no one goes there anymore. The Wednesday night patrons at Wednesday's Pub would often gather after a long day at the shore. It was there that these ordinary folk would transcend into extra ordinary and visually obsessed followers of Plugologism. Addicts of their own admission, these brethren of sorts would perform ritualistic acts with ferver in hopes of being righteously rewarded.It is apparent there were those amongst the hoard that would not possess the internal fortification needed for such commitment. Mumbling to themselves and frantically maneuvering, it was only their external motions that likened them to the true Plugologismmenites whose positioning and stature would become easily recognizable. It was those few that were continually rewarded with bountiful harvests.  They were not, however,  always willing to share their fruits but rather return them to their place of origin as a gesture of sustainability. They knew in their hearts that this would help the community of Plugologismmenities as a whole and would become their silent contribution.
Which brings up the question......Why is Wednesday spelled so weird? 
What's the point?
